Make a copy of your file, and then open the copy.
Go to "Update Prices > Update prices manually", and look for the investment
and date in question. The "Buy" will likely have been overwritten with
"Online". Deleting the "Online" price, and then editing the original
transaction (changing the date to Saturday or Sunday, and then back to the
actual date usually works) should bring it back as a "Buy", which should
bring back the "B" indicator in the charts. The same applies for sells,
reinvested dividends, etc.
As long as the transaction is at least a few weeks old, the price shouldn't
get overwritten again on the next online update.
Maybe 2004 SB is different, but in Money 2004 Premium, I only see the "B"
indicators in the price history report (from Reports Gallery). I don't see
them when I rightclick an investment in the portfolio and choose price
history, though that method did work when I used Money 2002 Deluxe.

Thanks,

>Reports >Reports Gallery >Investments >Price History.
I customized the Price History report for date and investments, and saved
copies of it to Favorites (one report customized for each investment
account). Once I had copies saved as Favorites, I reset the original
report.
For closed accounts, I don't have any problems with missing "Buy" and "Sell"
dots. For open accounts, I periodically have to delete the online prices
for dates where I bought/sold/etc and edit the transactions as indicated in
my earlier post to get the dots to show up.

UPDATE:
I found a way to turn on the buy/sell event dots in the portfolio price
history:
1) Rightclick an investment in the portfolio and choose "See Price History"
2) Rightclick on the chart and choose "Zoom". This exposes the report
options.
3) Click "Customize" in the upper left corner
4) On the "Chart" tab, click to check "Mark Events"
I'm not sure why this option is default-off in the portfolio (it used to be
default-on in Money 2002) and default-on in the Reports Gallery.

I'm not sure what you mean by resetting the report. I followed your
steps and don't see any Buy marks. I also tried turning off/on the
marks from zoom but still only see the two buy marks I saw before. I
have more than two buys but still can't get them to show up.
Thanks,
Brett
You need to do what I posted in my first reply. If you have a lot of buys
and sells, it will take a lot of work to get them all fixed.
Example: Let's say you bought MSFT on 7/10/2006, and the dot isn't showing
on any of the reports.
Go to the portfolio, then >Update Prices >Update Prices Manually. Select
MSFT as the investment, and then scroll down the list until you hit
7/10/2006. If there's no price here, or if the price is listed as "Online"
or "Update", you need to fix it.
1) Delete the "Online" or "Update" price for MSFT for 7/10/2006
2) Go back to the portfolio and find the "Buy MSFT 7/10/2006" transaction
3) Change the date from 7/10/2006 to 7/9/2006 and hit OK
4) Change the date back to 7/10/2006 and hit OK
You should now see the dot for 7/10/2006.
Repeat the above for all transactions missing the dot. I generally use the
nearest weekend date (7/9/2006 in my example) to avoid messing up the online
prices already downloaded for the weekdays.
You should make a copy of your file before doing this, particularly if many
transactions are involved. For example, if you accidentally hit the scroll
wheel while in the manual price update dialog, you may inadvertently switch
the investment and delete a price entry for the wrong investment (been there
done that).

Guess the newer versions of Money will also have this problem.
