This is MapPoint 2009 which we are trialling.

I'm new to this but have searched the help files so your tolerance if
this is obvious woule be most appreciated.

How can we print, presumably in the Legends area, the data related to
our Pushpins in list form?

Specifically, what we've done is import a list of names and addresses
as Pushpins, which we've numbered.

Many of these are quite close together, so we dont want to Show
Information next to the PushPin, but would like a list of the details
to appear alongside the map.

Can this be done?

TIA,

JohnK

No.

Most pushpin sets consist of more than the dozen or so instances which
would fill the legend up.

If you need a list, then double clicking on the pushpin set will let you
look at the locating information.
Export to Excel is also a good way to look at everything in a list (but
obviously not at the same time as a map).

There is a third party tool "Pushpin Tool" from John Meyer / Support PC
(yes we're a reseller - cost $75). This lets you do things like open or
close all pushpin balloons at once. Closing them by hand can get very
tedious!
(a third option in both MapPoint and Pushpin Tool is to just show the
pushpin name in the balloon)
