Anyone know if there is a shortcut key to start a Slide show in
powerpoint? I am looking for a short cut keyboard key, not from the
menu bar. Thanks in advance.

In PowerPoint X there are keystrokes to do this (unfortunately not in
earlier versions like 2001 and 98). Control-Shift-S starts the slide show
from the first slide and Control-Shift-B starts the slide show from the
selected slide.

This information can be found in PowerPoint Help. Go to Help -> Search
PowerPoint Help, and locate the article entitled "Use Keyboard Shortcuts" to
find the full list.
