Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel I have a complicated 2009 spreadsheet. Except for the data, all the formulas and column and row headings will be identical for 2010. Now that the spreadsheet is complete, is there an easier way to use it as a template for 2010 then to save as 2010, then manually delete all the data entries leaving everything else intact?
Thanks in advance,
Alan

There's no "easy" way as far as being able to just copy/paste or Save As
everything but the values you don't want to retain. A template includes
everything that's in the file being used as the model, so that would present
the same problem, but here's one option to try:

Select & copy the content of the 2009 sheet, paste to the new sheet. In the
new sheet select & copy a range of cells that contain last year's values
(not your formulas), leave those cells selected & go directly to Edit> Paste
Special. Select Subtract in the Operations, then OK. Repeat for each
contiguous range of cells that contain prior values.

Alternatively, to remove the content brought forward from last year's sheet
use Edit> Clear - Contents.

Neither is any faster than just deleting the unwanted values but at least
each ensures that the formatting will be retained. If you intend to follow
the same model next year make sure to create your worksheet template before
you start to accumulate any data.

Thanks Bob,

That's just what I'll do.
