Is it possible to configure Entourage 2008 with Exchange Server 2007 via RPC
over HTTPS?

If so how?

Thanks

Can you be more specific about what you are trying to accomplish?

Entourage uses WebDAV over HTTP (OWA) to communicate with an Exchange server.

Hello,

Entourage does not make use of RPC or MAPI. It only uses HTTP or HTTPS
(WebDAV) to communicate to the Exchange server.

The Entourage equivalent of connecting RPC over HTTP is documented on
The Entourage Help Page
<http://entourage.mvps.org/exchange/exchangeathome.html>.

Hope this helps!

Since no one else seems to know what RPC over HTTPS is let me tell you
the answer to your questions. No Entourage 2008 does not support an
RPC over HTTPS connection. Nor does it support syncing of tasks or
notes. It is useless again if you connect to an Exchange Server and
are not on the private network. The link will explain it all.

Hi Ken!

RPC over HTTP requires MAPI. Entourage does not support MAPI and it
doesn't need to because it can use WebDAV to do the same thing as RPC
over HTTP.

As for the article, much of it is true but when I read the headlline
"Office 2008 for Mac fails to deliver full Exchange support" I have to
ask, "Did Office 2008 for Mac promise to deliver full Exchange support?"
No, it didn't. Right from the headline I could tell the article was
going to be a Microsoft slamfest.

RR - for your sanity, I am familiar with HTTPS over RPC and use it
across our entire Outlook deployment. It's awesome and doesn't
require users to mess with our vpn. Anyway, I'm trying to find the
answer to your question too. I just setup Office 2008 for an exec and
got Entourage to work with our Exchange 2003 server. But I've had no
success with getting it to connect when off our network. DAV settings
always kick out an error when I use them. It's like Entourage can't
see or use our digital cert. I'll post back if I find a solution.
Otherwise chalk it up to another feature not available in Entourage.
