Starting to write an email without an address

Is there a way to open a "new" blank email and not have the address window to delete before I can start work. I like to write my emails before I address them, it saves me from sending them by mistake before I am done. I don't want to have to go thru the extra step of deleting the huge address block each time I start a new email.
