The specs:
I've got a PowerPC G4 running Mac OSX V10.4.11. I'm also use
Microsoft Entourage 2004. I use Gmail and receive my emails through a
POP setting.

Basically last week an e-mail went out to my entire gmail contact list
(different from my entourage list). From that point forward I've been
receiving e-mails supposedly sent back to everyone that sends me an
email with the following info....

Dear friend:

I would like to submit a good store that sells all kinds of
electronic products:

mobile phones, portable computers, TV, camera, etc..

I bought a bicycle there. It 'very nice and at a lower price. I think
it is reliable and

competitive, with excellent quality and reasonable prices. There is a
possibility.

The website: www.ggfor.com msn : ggfo...@hotmail.com

I hope I can go shopping for this company!

Regards

Well since the list is different from your Entourage list, it means it's
probably coming straight from your Google account.
Any chance the account could have been hacked?
Is the e-mail in your Sent box?
Did you change the password since then?

The emails are not showing up in my sent box, just my in box. I have
changed my password twice.

I'm curious why you think this is what happened. Have your friends in
your contact list actually told you that they received something from you?

This actually sounds like someone has you in his address book and that
he probably was infected by a virus that's sending to everyone in his
contacts list, not yours.

To date, no Mac OS X virus is known to exist in the wild that could
cause this.

It's a very strange situation.
The issue is what is happening now....
1. I receive an e-mail to my gmail account.
2. In entourage I see the e-mail is it was originally sent.
3. I am also seeing an e-mail (in my inbox: Entourage) that was sent
back to the sender with the RE:******** in the subject line. This e-
mail shows the text from above about an online electronics store.
4. These e-mails are not visible when I view my Google account
(viewable from a browser or on my iphone)
5. People are receiving these, but not every e-mail is responded
to.....

Starting to be very annoying.

If this is in your Inbox then you've received (not sent) this message,
correct?

Earlier, you mentioned that you don't see these messages in your Sent
Items and this still leads me to believe they are not coming from you.
Instead, it still sounds like someone else's computer is infected and
responding to messages you're sending.

If I'm misunderstanding anything you're describing, please let me know.

If the behavior has stopped, you shouldn't have to worry about it.
As far as I can tell, there are two options:
- Your account was compromised and someone used it to send e-mails.
- Someone sent a bunch of spam from somewhere else, pretending to be you
(more frequent that you might think)
