I have tried to use the web services edition to access my account without success. I have talked to my IS department and all the setting seem to be correct according to our online instructions. I get the public folders and nothing else when I connect. I have emptied the cache, deleted the identities, etc. Am I missing something? Can I start fresh somehow and get this to work?
I am using 2008 12.2.0.
imac with 10.6 and intel core 2 duo 2.33 3gb memory. Everything works with the current setup but I wanted to take advantage of the added features of web services edition.
BTW I had the same problem with 10.5. I have installed several times and then had to reinstall office 2008 over and over.
Any help would be appreciated.

You must update to 12.2.1 then download and install v13 to get EWS.

Are you sure your server is compatible with Entourage for Exchange Web
Services? Requirements are Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 RU 4 or
later.

> yes that is the part that does not work
Let's clarify what "does not work" means.
Does Entourage open OK?
Check under "About Entourage". Does it say Entourage v13.0.0
Is the problem only syncing up to your account folders?

Maybe Bill will have another suggestion. This is getting past my area of
expertise.

Has your IS guy also done this at home or has he done this at work?
Network connectivity inside a company network is not necessarily the
same as outside the company network.
> yes he has done this at home
If one account works but another account doesn't then the problem has to
be one of the following:
1. The accounts are on different servers (the first is Exchange Server
2007 but the second is not).
2. The settings are wrong in Entourage on the second account. This could
be a simple typo or accidental space in the wrong place.
3. Your IS guy is wrong and the first account is really connecting via
WebDAV and not the Web Services Edition of Entourage. (Have your IS guy
go to Tools --> Out of Office and verify he has the extended oof dialog
and not the simple oof dialog.)
4. You've re-installed Office 2008 but have not re-applied the EWS
update taking the version number to 13.0.0.
Have your IS guy take screenshots of his working account settings so
that you can duplicate them yourself.
Do you know how to access your account using Outlook Web Access (OWA)?
Is the interface new to you or does it look the same as always? Exchange
Server 2007 will allow you to go to Options --> About and verify your
server version. What do you see there?
> Any further ideas? Am I missing something ?
I can't say. Unless I see the problem firsthand myself I'll have to
stick with the ideas I suggested. You yourself are relying on what your
IS folks are saying without seeing it for yourself, right? Have them
*show* you so that you can verify things yourself. At least get those
screen shots!
"Trust but verify" as Ronald Reagan said.
