I'm running Entourage 2008 WSE with an Exchange 2007 server on a Mac
running OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard). Recently I've noticed (mainly because of
recipients replying saying, "what the heck?!?") that my address groups
are randomly being re-written. I will build a group and add all the
addresses and then, the next time I use the group (usually a day or two
later), if I check who is in the group by "expanding group", there are
addresses that I did not add to the group and, worse, addresses are
missing.

I've searched the internet for similar cases but no luck. Anyone here
seeing similar behavior?

Unless this is an error you're unknowingly creating on your part, I
would suspect that you may have some Database corruption.

With Exchange accounts, I never recommend rebuilding the Database
because an unsuccessful rebuild may sync the problems back to your
server. Instead, go to Entourage menu --> Switch Identity... and create
a new identity. Set up this new identity with the same Exchange Server
settings and then recreate your groups there. See if this fixes the problem.

Hope this helps!

I'll add an additional note. I found further instances of this behavior here in THIS forum. The only recommendation anyone got was "rebuild the database". I've done that. Several times. It does not correct the behavior.

This is serious, MS! This behavior could allow sensitive information to be sent to random persons. I'd think that if you're serious about business using your email client, you'd address this.
