Alternative Method to Entourage/Time Machine Backup

I don’t understand the instructions on the website beyond making an Entourage Backup folder and storing it outside of the MUD folder. The instructions seem contradictory, i.e., use step 3 but the further in the questions and answers that there is no need to have “folder actions.” Step 3 IS folder actions. I was very unsuccessful using Automator and folder actions months ago when I tried to back up to an external drive. So obviously I don’t understand those programs well. I wonder if I can get step by step instructions about what to do to back up this copied Entourage folder once a day. The skimpy info on the website doesn’t do it for me. It assumes I know more than I do. Does it have to be set to when I am not using the computer, and do I have to switch Entourage to offline (I don’t see an offline option in the menus)?
