Spam/Junk filter

spam/junk feature? I know in previous versions of Outlook (Windows) you
could add na...@address.extention or *@address.extention to the
filter/junk feature, but I can't seem to locate a similar feature in
Entourage 2004.

Entourage only has the opposite feature, a whitelist, i.e. a list which
allows you to specify domains that you know to be safe (Tools>Junk E-mail
Protection). If you want to associate specific domains to the junk category,
you will need to use rules (Tools>Rules). If you need any help with that,
just post back!

If you select Tools > Junk E-Mail Protection from the menu bar, then
click the Safe Domains tab you can add domains to the list.

I am curious to know more as I am in the process of trying to deiced
whether to make the move from Outlook to Entourage.
In Outlook you can simply right click and "add to block sender list"
or even put a "button" on menu bar you click on to do this. I tried
once to move to Entourage but was frustrated with the complexity of
steps of having to deal with junk mail. Has this improved. Also the
junk mail filter in Outllok seems to be much stronger than Entourage.
I am litterally working with a PC on my desk for outlook and
Quicken(which does not work well on mac) and a mac for everything
else.

manually add it.
The key to successfully managing your junk is to keep an updated Address
Book. The JMF never assigns messages from contacts in your Address Book to
the Junk category.
Personally, I rarely get junk mail that the filter does not pick up. I do
suggest that you add a rule to deal with junk that is from łme˛. I use the
top one that looks for the sending agent as Microsoft Entourage.
I haven't found a spammer that uses Entourage to send spam.

I can understand your frustration in learning new ways to do things. Many
users complain about Entourage not having certain Outlook features. Once you
learn all of Entourageąs features youąll be happy with your change and not
have to go back and forth between your PC and your Mac.

Let me correct this. When you select to "Mark as Junk", one of the options
is to ²Classify all message sent from the sender's domain as ³not junk².

As I said the complexity to do those very simple things in Outlook
make it extremely frustrating to use Entourage. When you look at the
steps needed above to accomplish the simple task of "right click add
to block sender list it is a wonder anybody would move from Outlook to
Entourage. Is there any chance these "simple" Outlook features will be
added to Entourage in future updates? I really enjoy all the others
features of the mac, but rely heavily on Outllook.
Is there a place to post suggested changes for consideration?

Yes, Send Feedback. Look under Help in the menu bar of any Office
application.
