Deleted Items folder only shows items which are "unread"

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Email Client: pop
The only items which appear in my "Deleted Items" folder are those which have an 'unread' status. I used to be able to see items with a 'read' and 'unread' status. Would you be able to advise me how to return the 'Deleted Items' folder to a state where I can see all emails I have deleted, not just those with an 'unread' status.

While viewing your Deleted Items folder, select View --> Unread Only to
UNcheck the option.
