It's a shame. I should open new exclusive thread for this, but I will

Major update, from version 6 to version 7 and video support is ONLY
available for corporate users, until a next, future update release!!

The technology used for Audio/Video (the A/V stack) used in Messenger 7.0 is incompatible with Windows Live Messenger at the moment. The WLM technology is old and is about to change. As soon as WLM 9 is released with the new A/V stack we will also have Audo/Video in our Macs. There is no point for MS MacBU to implement old technology in the Mac Messenger, and then change millions of lines of code within a few months. That's just counter productive. The corporate side of Messenger is now using this new technology and it will soon be implemented in the "personal" versions.

However, if you want MSN Messenger and video chat with a Mac (no audio support), use aMSN. It works really well when chatting to Windows Live Messenger buddies!

So you don't think MS is going to release WLM9 for the millons of Windows users, huh?
The code for A/V support is already there in Messenger 7 for Mac - it just doesn't work for the personal side yet... But when WLM9 for Windows is released it will not be long before A/V will be implemented in the Mac version.

Thanks for the info. I'm Beta testing 9.0 but as I said, have no experience
whatsoever with Mac's. 9.0 Beta 1 still has some bugs, but for what I use
it for, it works fine. Now if I could only get it to stop shutting down on
me all the time. LOL Oops, then I guess it's not working all that "fine".

Well... since WLM9 is still in beta I guess we'll have to wait.
