Hi All

My powerbook (or is it MSN Messnger?) has remembered every passport
username that has signed in to use messenger on my laptop, including
all my friends usernames.

How do I clear this history of usernames? (They appear in a drop down
menu on the MSN messenger sign-in page)

Thanks

There is a preferences file that stores these, you can remove the
addresses manually or just delete the whole file (in which case you will
have to go through the first time wizard but will not lose any info).

The file is found here:
<user's
directory>/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/com.microsoft.Messenger.plist

Hi Greg

Thanks so much for getting back to me. I am afraid I do not understand
where or how to find this file you refer to? Where is my 'user's
directory'? Should I be searching in my applications, or from the MSN
Messenger menu at the top of the screen, as I cannot find it?

Thanks so much for your assiatnce in helping me with this most
frustrating problem!

OK, I have managed to find the Messenger.plist file, and have deleted
all of it's contents by selecting all and deleting, but the usernames
are still appearing! What am I doing wrong?

This is turning a series of emails to myself! Good news is to those
reading I have managed to work it out. For anyone else with a similar
problem, you need to follow Greg's instructions (thanks Greg) but ALSO
delete the following files:
- Com.microsoft.MessengerDaemon.plist
- MSN Messenger User Cache

Cheers! :)
