How can I make set IE 7.0 to open in a maximized windows every time I open it, or click on a shortcut?. Since downloading and installing 7.0 my links and other shortcuts open minimized. I cannot find a way to open these links maximized. Help appreciated. Bill
Whichever shortcut you are using to launch the window, right click it and select properties. Under the 'Run' drop-down, choose "Maximized".
If the window still opens small, try this next:
First, *close all other windows*. Now, grab the corners of the window and drag it to full screen size. Close the window using File>Close, or File>Exit depending what program you're in. Windows will remember the last screen size used the next time you open the program. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express ~IB-CA~

The problem seems to be when using the shortcuts to Favorites, such as Links. The option to run maximize is not available under the properties selection and when I tried stretching the window and closing out via File/Close the original minimized window returned. I use my Favorites/Links a lot to direct access certain sites and maximizing them each time is an annoyance I would like to be rid off. Any other help or advise is appreciated.

Are the windows just small, or minimized to the Taskbar?
If they are just small, once you have one open, go to the Taskbar and close all other windows first and then stretch and close the small window.
If it is minimized to the Taskbar, then:
Right click on the minimized message on the Taskbar and select Move. Now use the arrow keys to get it in the screen. Close all other windows except this one and use the cursor to drag the message to full screen size. File | Exit, and Windows will remember the size when you open it again. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express ~IB-CA~

Windows open up small, they are not minimized to the Taskbar.
Tried closing all other operations, stretching then closing (closing tabs) and exiting, but the small window keeps coming back regardless of which favorite is selected. Note, this occurs when selecting Favorites from Start/Favorites, or from Links in the Taskbar. Either case the window opens up small, even if IE is already open and maximized.

Sorry Bob, but it did not work. Obviously I can maximize the windows each time I open the sites, but it's a nuisance. Never had the problem until IE7.0, but I'll live. Bill
