can't send, can receive

I'm having problems sending mail to anyone other than my own server (I
have a umich.edu address, I can send to other umich addresses but
nothing else) with IE. I can send using other programs such as telnet
or mulberry, so I don't think the problem is with my server. any ideas?

What is the error message that you get?

I suspect it is a "cannot relay" message. That means that the SMTP mail server does not allow
you to send messages outside of that server. Contact the mail server administrator for their
restrictions and possible workarounds.
