Writing to a file on the local machine

Hello,
I'm trying to write a text file to the local machine using a Java
applet. I
modified the java.security file to grant read/write permissions and it
works
with the Appletviewer.
When I use Internet Exporer 5, I get the message:
com.ms.security.SecurityExceptionEx[WriteFile.paint]: cannot access file

writetest.txt. I modified the Internet Zone security options granting
all
permissions but it still doesn't work. On the Microsoft site I found
that
the My Computer zone is not accessible for modification with the browser
and
that I need the IEAK (Administrator kit). I downloaded it, but I didn't
find
the way to access the My Computer zone. Does somebody know how to do it,
or
if there is a better way to resolve this problem ?
