InternetConnect to FTP proxy issue

Hi All,
I have to connect to a proxy server. Connecting manually from ftp.exe, proxy
servers returns a lot of 200 informational messages. InternetConnect returns
error 12003. InternetGetLastResponseInfo returns exactly one of 200
messages, so IMO they confusing WinInet engine and it returns an error.
Is there a way to have InternetConnect to ignore those messages? Any
workarounds?
