When loading a web page in IE 5, the program stalls at the "downloading".
IE works fine on local pages loaded from the hard drive, but when I try and
browse to a web site it stalls. It finds the DNS entry, contacts the web
server, and starts to download the page. I'll sometimes get as far as a
white background and then nothing. After about five minutes, I go into NT
Task Manager and have to close the task (it shows Not Responding).

Netscape Navigator works fine. However, IE5Setup locks up when it tries to
download files from the download locations. I'm pretty sure both the
IE5Setup and IE use the same underlying download code, so I'm ont surprised
they both lock up.

I did a reinstall, but no luck. There must be some setting that is hosed
somewhere, but I can't figure it out. Help!

Thanks!

Have the same problem with the MSN Home Page among others! Downloading stops
at the middle of the page and the IE Window freeze until Task Ended with
Task Manager. This problem started yesterday after installing MSN Messenger
Service. Maybe related too, an aborted repair of Shockwave at the Macromedia
Web Site which invoked my ActiveX IE settings.
Any similarity in the context?
