thanks Sig, I am using them for a background and a mask is much quicker and
easier to use, plus I don't get the distortion. I looked through the paper
folder and I swear I didn't see those!! :-) Must be going blind here too!

Yes but the preset comes with a burlap patch used for the texture. It is a
bmp.

Sig,
can you enlighten me about the impressionist filter?
I've seen it mentioned before but know nothing about it.
Is it expensive? Where would one find it? Does it work with PSP5?
TIA

Luminescence is good - so is multiply and overlay. Remember to not always
use the default gray. Sometimes blue or red may work better for the effect
you need (layers/properties)

The two tif files came from the impressionist filter - one is a brush and
one is a paper

It comes with Microsoft's Image Composer which is part of Front Page. The
filters is great and works fine with Paint Shop Pro. It is especially good
for textures and paint like effects.

I went to the Microsoft site and downloaded a public beta. After installing it (and before uninstalling it<g>) I just moved the Impressionist folders over to the PSP/plugins folder and it worked just fine. I didn't have to do anything else. It was nice of MS to put it all in a separate folder for us<vbg>

I have some dynamite filters, but unfortunately they are the old 16bit and I found you have to use 32bit ones with PSP5<sigh>

I suggest you zip them up and save them also as they don't have to be
installed again to work. At least mine have never needed to be installed
again.

If I understand what you mean here then yes it will expire. That is if you
installed the Impressionist filters from a Demo program they will expire.

Yep that is what I did too but I didn't install it off a time limited
version of FrontPage either. If you use the Demo or beta versions of FP then
the filter will time out also. That is all I was saying here.

No I installed it when I got the final of FP and didn't like anything on the
CD except the filters I zipped them up uninstall all of the FP CD and then
unzipped into my plugins2 folder. They have worked fine there now for over a
8 months without any problem. I like the filter but wasted money on the
rest.

Well Debbie....your wav here is 129 KB's and your stationery is only 4.32
KB's...and the rest is what the HTML added...so you see, the wav or midis DO
make a huge difference. I try to keep my sound files around 20 KB's or less
if I can help it. Background textures also add a great deal of size to a
post so you might want to check those too if small post size is your
concern.

How do you guys get these files you post so small?? I tried everything and
this is still 180 KB's. If I posted it the way I really liked it, it would
have been 600!! I don't know who posted the Santa Cola yesterday, but I took
it and fooled around with it a little and found a wav (I know that's part of
the problem.....but are wavs that big of a difference?) that I thought went
with it.

Any help on this size issue will be appreciated. BTW it is compressed to 35.
