These are some basic instructions for cloning in Picture Publisher.
1. Click on new. Make the size 300 x 300 pixels. Double click on one of the
colors on the bottom left hand toolbar. Change the color to black. Double
click on the other one, in the HSL type in these numbers -- H 220; S 43; L
32. This should give you a bluish color. Click on image, effects; or effect,
effects browser (depending on what version you have). Under texture choose
clouds, set the slider bar to 5, then click o.k.
2. Click on image, wizards, tile creator; or effects, wizards, tile
creator -- click next, choose mirrored seams, set the slider bar to 15,
click on finish. This will open a new image.
3. Click on the fill bucket (left hand tool bar) choose the texture. Click
on the texture box on the bottom of the top tool bars, click create, type in
black blue. Close the images that are open, clicking no on saving them.
4. Open the attached dragon picture.
5. Click on new --- make the size 975 x 300 pixels. You should still have
the texture bucket, click once on this new canvas, it should fill it in with
the black blue clouds. This is going to be the background.
6. Click once on the dragon picture, right click & choose copy. You can now
close it.
7. Right click on the background & choose paste. Right click again & choose
align -- on the top choose, the left arrow, on the left side bar choose the
center arrows. The dragon picture should now be to the left & centered on
the background.
8. Click on the left hand tool bar on the top for the regular cursor. On the
top bottom tool bar -- right hand side, click on mask. Then right click on
the background & choose combine -- selected objects with base. Then on the
very top tool bar, click on the work mask, & choose remove mask.
9. Maximize the background & use your page up key on your keyboard to
enlarge it. You can use page up, page down & your arrow keys to move around.
10. Click on the left hand tool bar on the paint palette, choose the clone
tool. The default size is 50 --- change this number around to what you need.
You want the clone tool with the x on the cloud background. The clear one,
you want over the background of the dragon. Hold down your shift key to move
the two apart or together. Clone small portions at a time. Changing the size
of the clone tool & using your page up -- page down as needed. If you mess
up, click on the down arrow on the top middle tool bar -- you can undo &
redo as much as you want. Get it looking the way you want it to look. Then
minimize & hit your home key. Click on left toolbar on the regular cursor.
11. Click on the very top tool bar on the word mask, click undo remove mask.
Then on the lower of the top tool bars, right hand side, click on the
object. This will remove the mask & make it an object again.
12. Click on the left hand tool bar on the mask tool, choose the square one.
Starting from the upper left hand corner of the dragon, click & drag the
mask to the bottom right (whole image -- dragon & clouds). If you are right
on it, the frame around the dragon will turn red, this is what you want, but
just get as close as you can. Then click on the word mask, crop to mask.
13.Click on wizard (under image or effects) click on tile creator, click
next, then mirrored seams, move the slider bar to 15, click finish.
14. Click to save, choose .jpg -- name it what you want. Set the compression
to 20 or what ever you like, clicking on the top left icon will give you a
full page view of how it will look saved. Make sure you have high
compression set in the drop down box.
This can be done with any graphics program with a clone tool.
