aWhen we try to dispose of a FA as of 1/1/2010, GP wants to record that with
the 2009 year label, when the year is 2010. Why would this be & how to we
correct this?

Go to your asset book and change your book year to 2010, refer to my blog
post below for more information:

My book year was at 2010. For some reason any disposal we do in the current
period is labeled one period back? Unless we do the disposal after the 15th
of the month, then it will record it in the current month, but it will also
show depreciation for the month.

Hi Merle,

I suggest you review the Asset Book window for the assets and review the
Averaging Convention that was set up for them.

For example, if you are using the "Full Month" Averaging Convention, this
means that "Assets retired at any time during the month are considered
retired on the last day of the previous month."

You can review the GP Help File for an Overview on the Averaging Conventions
as well.

Hope that helps.
