Great to hear of an update to an excellent product. I'm
personally wondering if somehow sound effects for
adventure traffic can somehow be enhanced. The actual
communications between ATC with the aircraft that you are
piloting are absolutely fine. In other ATC
communications, there lacks the certain sound effect that
is heard - the "hash", for lack of a better word. It
might be difficult to somehow enhance that radio traffic
for other aircraft to add that certain radio 'hash' that
exists. But perhaps MS programmers can find a way to add
this "effect" to that other aircraft/ATC radio traffic.

I note that previously, flight sim and add-on developers
simply used previously recorded radio ATC traffic with no
relation whatever to "actual" traffic. In FS2004, when
you are asked to hold on the runway, the aircraft on the
runway is exactly the carrier and type specified by the
controller. And, in flight, the traffic advisories are
of actual generated AI traffic and able to be visualized.

Also, in real-world flying, pilots are generally not
asked to identify traffic between their 9:00 O'Clock and
3:00 O'Clock BEHIND them, and I've been asked a few times
by the 'controllers' to acknowledge traffic at 7:00
O'Clock and 4:00 O'Clock which is not feasible,
considering our lack of X-ray vision.

Beyond that, I eagerly look forward to this release and
commend the staff at MS for an exceptionally superb
experience that is well worth the time and money for the
development of this hobby.

Thank you kindly,

J. Waters

What "release" is it that you are looking forward to Jim?

Why oh why would Microsoft put on such a neat dog-and-
pony show for Avsim? And yet there is not a single Google
link to it... or anything remotely like it.
Still I must admit that this second link has a little more
credibility. But I've yet to see the Microsoft imprimatur
on it, and it still looks fishy to me. Hope I'm wrong.

who knows why.
apparently avsim had some sort of convention and microsoft was there.
i'm only passing along links, i know nothing of conventions or microsoft's
intentions.

i'm not going to loose any sleep over it, life will continue without a
patch.

i'll believe it when i see it. until then ,chill.

Right you are, I slept fine last night. And, like you,
it will believed when it is seen. Whatever "it" is.

I was at the convention and MS was there as well, they announced the
update during it yes, and press releases have been sent out since then
I guess. It has been in testing for a while and should be out soon
(now that I talked too much I'll go back under my rock <G>)
