I made a website in FP2000, and then moved the files to another folder. This
resulted in losing all my theme settings etc.
I thought I would download the new website from the web and it does so but I
lose all the theme settings. It does say prior to downloading that to retain
all these settings I will need to publish it to a folder, which I have done
but the settings are not retained.
Help much appreciated.

Describe 'how' your 'publishing' and yes you do need to publish.

To keep the theme you need to Publish your web site to your server.

Hi,
To publish, I go to publish web and publish to a set folder. None of the
theme settings appear to have downloaded, if they have, publishing it does
not rectify the problem. I want to be able to edit the website with all the
original theme settings.

A folder or a web site? You need to publisher to a server (ex:
http://www.domain.com) and not a folder.

The live/remote web site must have and had the FP extensions at the time it was uploaded for you to
be able to publish back to your local PC via FP's http mode in order to retain the theme and
navigation structure.
