Is it possible to post a powerpoint file on my web site that will open and
run when someone visits the page, rather than have them actually download the
file to thier local machine? Thanks in Advance,

Yes. The method depends on your version of PowerPoint and Frontpage.

Hi Neal,

Yes. When you save the power point presentation save it as HTML then import it into the FP web you have open.

As long as people visiting the site have powerpoint, it will open in Powerpoint
immediately and run the presentation (like with PDF files open in Adobe Reader).

Visitors can also have the Powerpoint reader which just "plays" the
presentations - free from MS. Provide a link to it.

Import the PPT file into your web, then link to it from the html page.

Yes as a .PPT file
- just drag it from Folder List onto your page to create the link
- they must have PowerPoint or the PowerPoint viewer

website, it doesn't work.
I have Frontpage 2003 and operate with windows XP professional. I need help
in a not too-technical manner.

Thanks in advance

Export to HTML from Powerpoint. Import those files into your FP site. Link
from your page to the start page for the PP presentation.

There is a good choose for insert powerpoint file into website:convert
the powerpoint file to flash format then embed the flash file into
website comfortable.

Conversion
tool:http://www.sameshow.com/download/ppt2flash-download.php?sid=6

I have used it many time,There are some example about this thread, there
were all first created by powerpoint, but now they are flash after
convertsion,reference only:

Thank you!! I am using FP 2003 and PP Beta 2007. The directions worked
nearly perfectly. However I do have a question.

My 'thicket' is named ATM_files. I highlighted it and published it to the
remote server. However when I dbl click on the ATM_files on the remote side
in hopes of seeing the files inside, nothing is visible.

I know the files are somewhere as when I viewed my website on another
computer and went to the PP presentation area, it works- partially. I get
the sound but some of the pics in PP do not appear. (When I previewed the
page in the browser, I got all of the pics but not the sound.)

Any suggestions on where to find the files inside the thicket?

Last question-- how do I delete a thicket from my remote server? On a
previous attempt, I had to abort the upload and wanted to delete the file now
on the remote server. I right clicked on it, however it said

" This file is part of a thicket. You may not perform move, delete, or
rename operations on it. Instead please performt he appropriate operation on
the main thicket file: ATM_files.htm"

Will I ever be able to delete the thicket from the remote server?

Thanks in advance

To Delete the thicket you need to delete the file it is associated with
- FP normally hides or block thicket folders (they are managed by the file that created the thicket)

In PPT, when you save as, set the Options to NOT create a separate folder with associated files (and you won't have a thicket
folder)

The presentation is on the website - but not where the link is pointing to.

The presentation is at
http://www.theinitiators.info/initiatorspowerpoint_files/frame.htm
The link points to
http://www.theinitiators.info/../../Career%20Switchers/Small%20Group%20Project/initiatorspowerpoint_files/frame.htm

which is two folder levels up from the root folder, and the path
Career%20Switchers/Small%20Group%20Project does not exist either.

You should remove all spaces from filenames and folder names - these show as
%20 in links, and can break links in some browsers.
