Hello,

I am using FrontPage version 2003 and my ISP is Earthlink I am wondering is there a way I can find out how many hits on my home page? I like the idea of a counter, but I don't want my viewers to actual see the counter. Any tips or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Use a stats tracker icon ... like counters it won't give an accurate count
but it won't be in your face either you can find and buy invisible hit
counters .. I don't know if there are any free invisible one's any more ..
stats trackers are quite good because of the other information you get ..
like referrer info which I find invaluble i use

check with your host. most of the time they've got something either added
or addable.
I've got one on a few sites from www.deepmetrix.com and it's pretty
impressive (with more stuff than I could ever want).

You also sent this to me directly please don't do that.

I know about the frontpage hit counter and I don't recommend using it hence
the reason I did not mention it all except in passing as in hit counters
don't keep accurate counts, only the server comes anywhere near ..... The FP
hit counter is particulary bad and won't do a blessed thing for you except
add to your page load.

You have not even sent it to the correct person it's Alex asking the
question not me ... use the newsgroup don't send direct emails as a matter
of course, I had to search to find out where this came from as well as I
answer questions on many groups not just here I had no idea where it came
from, it just happened I remembered I'd answered on the ng in quiet moment
yesterday.
