Running Exchange 2007 here with Outlook 2003. I have a small number of
staffers that work on Saturdays and I need to send them a reminder each
Saturday to perform a specific task. I won't have my Outlook open over the
weekend so how can I send these folk a message every Saturday at 8:00am
without user intervention?
Thanks in advance,
Linn
Leaving aside that if it's in their job description to do something on
a given day you should sack them if they don't do it......
Set up a recurring appointment in their calendars and have it pop up
whenever you need it to.
Unfortunately it's not that easy. To start with their job is considered to
be much more important than mine and management has said, "So set up a
reoccuring email to remind them, what's the big deal?". They claim I did
this before and it just stopped working about two months ago, I have no
recollection of doing this but that is beside the point.
I don't think there is any way for me to push a reoccuring appointment to
their calendars is there? Part of the problem for me is that these are
"on-call" people, there is someone different on-call each week and they
don't always follow the schedule. What's acceptable to them is for me to
send a reminder to the entier group each week and anyone not on-call will
just ignor it.
Best I can think of is if I can setup a scheduled task on the server to send
an email directly to the Exchange server without using Outlook. Is there a
way to do that?
Thanks,
Linn

Why not just set up a recurring meeting invitation or task assignment?
I agree with Mark that this is a losing battle, but you have several
pointy-haired bosses, I suspect.
I haven't tried it but it may be the ticket:
