Will the older Leopard (10.5.) work with Exchange Server 2010? Right
now I have it working well with 2007. I know Snow Leopard (10.6) works
with 2010. I just want to know whether I need to upgrade my Mac OS
before migrating from 2007 to 2010. I have hosted Exchange on
Intermedia.

You probably mean to ask if your built-in mac client (assuming you're not
using MS's Entourage) will work the same, since Mac OS itself doesn't really
interact with Exchange at all. But yes, it should work the same. To create
a situation where clients stop working when you upgrade the server would be
madness on MS's part. When a new version of a server product like Exchange,
which uses standard protocols like IMAP (for non-MS clients) or even MAPI
(for MS, or other licenced, clients) is released, the way that the server
implements those protocols (from a client perspective) doesn't change at
all.

BTW, if you /are/ using Entourage, you will need the new EWS version, since
E2010 has dropped the WebDAV protocol. But you will not need to update the
client's OS.

Thank you. Yes, I've upgraded Entourage to the EWS version (I run both
Apple Mail and Entourage for two different email addresses, personal
and work) and it works great with Leopard.

Apple Mail works well with Exchange Server 2007, which as you say
dropped WebDAV for Exchange Web Services. I wasn't sure if this
compatibility carried over necessarily to the EWS protocol in 2010,
but it sounds like it does.

Thanks again!
