I recently had to move an Exchange mailbox from User1 to User2, and
then create a new mailbox for User1.

Outlook links up to the new mailbox okay, and emails in and out are
working.

Only small problem is when another Exchange user emails User1, their
Outlook drop down list remembers the name but with several numbers
after the username.

For example, if the users email is to...@ourdomain.com, the drop down
list in Outlook shows as "Tony Smith <tonys07189067>".

This suffixed number does not show up in Active Directory, or in the
Global address book. It is only happening with this one user.

Does anyone have any idea how to resolve this?

Many thanks

Greg

Probably the nickname cache. When it shows up use the arrow key to highlight
it & then press DEL.

Next time, I wouldn't do what you've done. Set up a new user, and grant
him/her rights to the other mailbox so that they can move in the data they
wish.
