Cannot mail-disable public folder (s) after moving organization to E2K3

Some E2K servers were upgraded to E2K3 on W2K (following OS upgrade to
W2K3), some servers are E2K on W2K still, and one E2K3 on W2K. No Exch 5.5
there. E2K shows that organization is in "Native Mode (no pre-Exchange 2000
servers)" operating mode.
I cannot mail-disable some old public folders created with ESM from E2K a
year ago. But newlly created (after upgrades) with ESM public folders are
"good" - I can mail-enable and mail-disable them without any problems.
Is there any way to mail-disable old PF? Maybe using direct access to AD
with LDIFDE utility and removing some exchange attributes from PF objects -
but which attributes should I remove exactly??? Or maybe I can solve the
problem a different way?...

Sergey,
A quick and dirty way to prevent people from sending mail to a pf that you
cannot mail disable would be to just hide it from the Exchange Global
Address List. To accomplish this in ESM navigate to the properties of the
culprit pf, go to the Exchange Advanced tab and check the checkbox that says
"Hide from Exchange Address List." People won't be able to see that PF from
the GAL and therefore won't be able to send mail to it.

Thank you, I already hid these PFs from GAL - by the way you aren't correct
saying "People won't be able to see that PF from the GAL and therefore won't
be able to send mail to it" - THEY WILL BE ABLE TO SENT IF THEY KNOW EXACT
SMTP OR X400 adress even PF is hidden in GAL.
And what is slow but clean method to mail-disable PF if ESM cannot do this?

find the object in the 'microsoft exchange system objects' container
and delete it. you'll get a pop-up that explains what's going to
happen. accept it.

you'll get an warning when you examine the proprty of the pf abou no
being able to display the mail-related information. accept it. now try
to mail-disable the folder.
