Hi there

I recently installed Exchange 2003 SP2 on an SBS 2003 server, for the IMF
update really. Everything seemed to go fairly smoothly from what I can tell
so far!!

However, one problem that I'm having is that after the SP2 install I can no
longer
access any of the help files from any context menus or option windows, in
fact anywhere, in ESM, and I get the event id:1000 reported in the app event
log with
the following description when I tried to do so:

'Faulting application maildsmx.dll, version 6.5.7638.1, stamp 430e738e,
faulting module hhctrl.ocx, version 5.2.3790.2744, stamp 44b3a49e, debug? 0,
fault address 0x000133de.'

If anyone can help me one this one I'd appreciate it as I've trawled MS
support KB's and googled it but without a solution.

Maybe visiting WindowsUpdate is in order?

I installed all the Microsoft updates and the server is up to date. The funny
thing is that if I open up a blank MMC and add the exchange snap-in the help
contexts work fine, until i save the console and open it up again, at which
point it starts misbehaving again. I think I may try to install the
management tools again.

I have the exact same problem. Exchange 2003 SP2 on SBS 2003,
everything is up to date and patched. Help crashes the Exchange
manager, but just like your setup, it works fine if I add the manager
mmc manually to a blank mmc.

Did you ever find a resolution to this issue?

Hello all,

To solve this I had to uninstall IE7 (I made the mistake of installing
it via 'Automativ Updates'

It was intuitive based on all the fragmented inquiriies I read to try
this but I had difficulties and my searching found me at this website
which helped:

http://www.ie-vista.com/kbase2.html

Hope this helps!
