The user gets automatic posting of notifications that once after every
e-mail is sent. The user gets an initial notification that it was sent and
then a second one which tells them it was delivered which seems to be a bit
excessive!! Is there a way to stop this from happenning?
Thanks
This isn't an Exchange issue. You need Blackberry server if you really want
to have Blackberries. Or the user should configure his device to work with
OWA (using "Blackberry Internet Services" or BIS, with his wireles
provider).

Nope, this has nothing to do with Exchange. Over the years I have configured
many people
to use BIS (Blackberry Internet Service) and there are no such notification
messages. What you're describing sounds more like the icky Desktop
Redirector - make sure that is not installed/running anywhere.
Either get Blackberry server (you know the Professional/Express version is
'free' for a single license, right?) or get him an ActiveSync capable device
and watch all these problems go away ....plus he would also get wireless
sync of calendar/contacts/tasks :)

BIS won't work if you use ISA and FBA from the ISA server. Just a FYI.

Ah, didn't know. Thanks.
Instead of having him use BIS have his Exchange email forwarded to his
BlackBerry Address. You can configure Exchange to keep a copy also so
it shows up in Outlook

Neither did I until it stopped working. :-(
RIM has a kb article on their web site, too. Too bad I didn't see it
earlier.
But the sent items won't sync, and if there's a delivery problem with the
Blackberry address the sender will get an NDR showing that address and it
can be very confusing. I'm not a fan of this method if there are
alternatives.
Either way, just set each account's delivery notification setting to
"No" and that'll get rid of the spam you're seeing.
