Hi,
I would think this is possible but not sure. How can I tab only to cells
that I want a user to enter data?

select all those cells with CTRL+click

Insert->Name->Define

and give them a name

then Edit->Go To->choose your Name

this should do

What will it do, Jarek? As I see it, the only way to do this is to
Format>Cells>Protection and unlock the cells to be tabbed to, then
Tools>Protection>Protect Sheet.

You can create a range of non-contiguous cells and then the data entry will
remain within the range.

Start by selecting your *second* cell for data entry.
Hold down <Ctrl> and continue selecting each cell in the order that you wish
to enter data.
END by selecting the *first* cell of data entry *last*.

While all the cells are still selected, click in the "NameBox"
And type a short name such as
Entry1
And click <Enter>

Now, when you wish to enter data, click in the "NameBox" and choose
"Entry1".
The focus will be in your first cell for data entry.
Just type your data and hit <Enter>, and the focus moves to your next chosen
cell for data entry.
Continue until finished and click away to exit the loop.

This choosing of the second cell of data entry first and the first cell last
eliminates an old problem of a double <Enter> being necessary at the outset
of the process.

Jarek, my apology for not seeing that your solution was a valid alternative to
cell unlocking/sheet protection.

That double Enter always annoyed me, but couldn't figure out how to eliminate.

Thanks for this. Gord Dibben Excel MVP - XL97 SR2

Hey Gord,

Just made a mistake one day and forgot to go *back* to the first cell a
second time!

Regards,
