How to copy task pane to clipboard?

I can copy the entire screen using Ctrl+PrtSc. I can copy a window using
Alt+PrtSc (e.g. New Question - Windows Internet Explorer). A task pane (e.g.
PivotTable Field List) is neither of these, and Alt+PrtSc copies the entire
screen rather than just the task pane. How do I copy just the task pane?

I forgot to say I am using Excel 2007, with Windows XP.

Highlight the cells you want to copy, and use Ctrl-C (or, right-click and
choose Copy)

Thanks, but that doesn't work. If you create a pivot table, you complete the
Create Pivot Table window and click OK. Then you get a task pane, which I am
unable to copy to the clipboard. It is not an any cells, but is in front of
everything like a window, except that it isn't a window. I am still stuck.

In office 2003 I'm able to get pivot table fields list with PrtSc and able
paste it in mspaint.

Thanks, Vinod. That is a workable work-around - to use MS Paint as an
intermediary and select what I want and go from there. Even though it uses
quite a few extra keystrokes, I am no longer stuck.

Have you thought about downloading a screen capture application from the
'net?

I like FastStone Capture, although it is no longer freeware........$20.00 I
believe.

There are free ones out there.

Thanks for the suggestion. No, I hadn't thought about that. I am very
hesitant about loading any application from the Internet, as I have been
"stung" before. At least for now, I can solve my problem with Paint. I will
keep your suggestion in mind, though, if my frustration level rises to an
unacceptable level.
