I have a .csv file that was created from a Lotus Notes export. When the
data is imported to Excel, one of the columns has cells that have over 1,000
characters. When looking at the spreadsheet, I can only see a portion of
the data. If I try to print, it only prints what is viewed. If I click on a
cell, I can see all of the data (the data is there). Is there some limit to
the number of characters that are viewable/printable in Excel?

Joe,
Yes. While a cell can hold up to 32K characters in Excel 97, it can
display (or print) no more than approximately 1024 characters. See the
below link for details.

HI Joe

You can put 32k characters in a XL97 cell, but you will only see 1024 in the
formula bar. If the 32k characters are in one cell, say A1 and the rest of
the sheet is blank you can print all the characters. If you put data in the
B1 cell and the other cells under A1 you may only print a few characters
form A1. Try it by pasting a Word document into cell A1 of Xl.
