cell shows formula...not formula result
Infrequently I run across the following problem in excel. I will create a
formula that links a cell to a second cell (i.e. =U11). 99% of the time, the
formula will show the value of the linked cell. Occasionally, the cell will
only show the formula. Typically, I've handled the problem in a variety of
ways. For instance, I may create the link in another cell, and then cut and
paste it to where I want it in the worksheet. Presently, I've a spreadsheet
that has a number of these errors. No matter what work-around I try, the
cell stills shows the formula....but not the formula results. Any
suggestions on how to clean up this problem?

I'm running Excel 2003. On the Tools/Options/View menu, I've
checked/unchecked the "formulas" checkbox. This doesn't remedy the
problem...i.e. the cell still shows the formula/link rather than the formula
result.
