Regardless, if you've downloaded IE8 and need to remove it from your
computer, go to: Start > Search > (type in: System Restore ) > click on
system restore icon > continue > remove last (windows update)> and system
restore should remove IE8 Beta.
I strongly caution everyone that this Beta edition of IE8 is very unstable
and should ONLY be used on a 'Test' computer by very advanced users.

i've had ALOT of problems with IE8 & when i revisited the microsoft site it
offered me a download of a program called 'silverlight' (which is for better
videos and audio), and upon installing this program it automatically made my
IE8 program start working successfully since i installed it.
so give that a try if like me u were not getting internet pages to load
properly & experiencing slow speeds as i was.
hope this helpful.
Can someone suggest anything?

Beside, user interface of IE8 is generally similar to IE7, reducing the
enticing for users who face problems when using IE8 to stay using it. If you
decided to rollback and revert back to original IE7 or IE6, it’s possible to
uninstall IE8 to do so.
IE8 can be uninstall by using Add or Remove Programs module in Windows XP,
but in Windows Vista, Windows Internet Explorer 8 is not considered to be a
‘program’. Instead, IE8 is categorizing as an ‘update’. Thus, users will not
be able to find Windows Internet Explorer 8 in “Programs and Features” of
Windows Vista.
To uninstall Internet Explorer 8, go to Control Panel, and click on
Uninstall Programs link or Programs and Features icon. Then on Tasks pane on
the left, click on View installed updates link. Locate and select Windows
Internet Explorer 8 in the list of installed updates, and then click on
Uninstall button. Click on Yes when asked that are you sure want to uninstall
the update

I'm using XP and I have the same problem too. IE just shuts/quits as soon as
it opens. Restoring is not working and after restoring to a later date the
UNISTALL option in Control panel is not there any more. So basically I'm
stuck. I had no crash problems, I just wanted to go back to IE7 because IE8
wount let me edit Office live website.
Hope this is helpfull.

It is a pervasive/invasive part of an OS system that some well known entity
didn't want, sold rights to! Don't they kick themselves now!
A computer language; DOS, that almost everything is built upon to this day.
Binary!
Yes, there are variations of the language; you can name a few, I'm sure!
I hate IE 8, as well as most do. What must we/will we do, to end/kill it?
Oh, BTW; how do I get rid of/kill it? I'm an xp os user as well. No vista;
For me!
Thanks for all your preceding posts. Very helpful. A vietnam vet!

I was prompted to uninstall IE8 after discovering that the popupblocker.dll
module caused constant crashes for me, even when I did not have the feature
turned on.
