Fat32/NTFS conversion

Running XP Pro SP2 I can't convert an external USB HDD from Tat32 to NTFS
using convert.exe.

When I use this:
convert H: /fs:ntfs /v /nosecurity /x

I get this:
The type of the file system is FAT32.
Enter current volume label for driveH:
