I've done usercontrols with constructors and usercontrols using the IDE. But I guess I've never used the IDE to do a usercontrol with a constructor. vb .net 2005 aspx I have a dropbox that is binded to a table i.e. ...... item = "New York " and Item value = "NY" in the If not ispostback I read an SQL table and use the State Item value to lookup the index in the dropbox and set the selectedindex . I'm making a system utility of sorts that checks files that are installed on a users system. These files often include access control NTFS permissions with the Everyone, Deny permission. Vb.net Newbie looping problem

Greetings, I have the functionality upon a button press to loop around the rows in the datagrid view and where the checkbox is true then delete the row (see code below). It never deletes all those marked and when I use debug via printing statements within the loop it randomly seems to skip a row. I'm not sure if this is because I remove a row from the datagridview... more »

Searching binary files for patterns?

So I have created my own application to search for Spyware/Viruses and so far all of my search functions are done except one, searching a binary file for a certain pattern or a pattern with a wildcard. I really need to figure out the best way to do this. I'm sure there are examples out there I'm just not wording my Google... more »

I have a program which when you press a button a second window slides out to the right. However, I want more of a tray to slide out ie the windows that slides out is always the same size as the parent form. How do I reduce the size of the secons window? Do I make some of it invisible? Hardy
