I have heard that there was a release of a service pack for the CF 1.1 for
performance issues. Is this available? If so where can I download the
service pack?

The current version of the .Net framework is 1.1, but the current version of the
Compact framework is 1.0.

Sorry about the typo, but I heard that there was a release of some kind of
service pack for the compact framework last week or the week before. Was I
misinformed or has this been released?

I think you were misinformed. What have been released during the last few weeks
are some devices with the compact framework in ROM, but the version they run is
still 1.0.

Lee - You are half right. We are going to release a Service Pack for the
Compact Framework 1.0. It is not ready for release yet. And you are
correct that it improves a few very specific performance fixes. When the
Service Pack gets released, the download page will show you all of the bug
fixes included in SP1.

Chris I think you'll find that this download will increase your form load
performance

extract from page at url:
Fixes made in this QFE:
Component: .Net Compact Framework
Description: ARMV4I, ARMV4T only: These ARM platforms run .Net Compact
Framework applications slowly because the JIT compiler is not optimized for
it. This drop of the SJIT compiler is optimized for these ARM platforms.

Cheers
Daniel
