How do you setup your EF EDM? (Entity Framework)

Hi.
I was wondering how you people setup your EDM?
Are you using the edmgen tool, the Visual Studio designer or are you
writing them manually?
I'm asking because I'm considering writing my EDM manually instead of
using the designers because I don't like auto generated code. How
difficult is it writing it manually? Can you compare it to writing

Hi, I think I've found a good enough work-around, by creating a new field
template in dynamic data, to perform the lookup of a collection of data. I
think the issue is a shortcoming of the release, along with the other
shortcomings, due to being a 1st version release... we should be able to
relate data from different sources using EDM/DynData with full EDM/DynData

That is not a user, in the traditional sense.
It may show up in the tool, but it is not a user you can use. Consider it a
database role or a superuser.
The sa account is "god" on the server. You can use it in connection strings,
et al, but I would highly discourage it. You are better to make a dbo roled

Any of the tools to copy databases by reading schema and creating DDL and
DML work slow. This is largely from the large amount of lines of code they
create. The Database Publishing wizard will create a file rather quickly,

What I think happened is my username was changed from dave to david
(long story due to a bug in Exchange's IMAP server). So all the
databases created with dave as the dbo now have "" as the dbo.

Sorry - I was typing fast. The backup/restore approach worked fine.
The Copy Database wizard was a giant time suck that never worked. So I
would suggest avoiding it.

I am trying to write a search Query in link that will take a search
string in either (Last, First; Last; First; First Last) format. But I
only get results as if I only sent in one name. I would expect to
have each iteration at loop 6 add another where statement to the
query, but is looks as if it is just using the last on in the array.

If your class is custom, (i.e. not generated from entity model), a simple
method is to add a readonly property to the class and put custom code in the
getter. I just run into this myself with Format event not firing on a
binding and can not figure out why (inside the new datarepeater control).

I am trying to select certain data from a parent table, but would like
to constrain the results based on the child tables attributes. The
relationship is a one to many so if i try to specify a filter for the
child table, i unable to access the child attributes. Does anyone
have any ideas on how i might be able to do this?

Man I feel stupid. :P I've been spending two days finding my own
architectural grip where the wrapped context I use presets a few
dataloadoptions, not including the one I want now. An eager-load
dataload option on the innermost context, et voilá - I'm there! :)
