I've compiled the nulmrx project using the Windows XP x86 Free Build
Environment. My OS is Windows XP Pro SP3.

To install, I put the nulmrxnp.dll file in C:\Windows\System and I put
nulmrx.sys in the C:\Windows\System32\Drivers.

Next I successfully ran :
regini nulmrx.ini

Next, I edited
\\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\NetworkProvider\Order\ProviderOrder
and put "NulMRx," as the first entry.

Then I rebooted the machine.

According to the directions then, all I have to do is call "net use *
\\nulsvr\share" and it should work. But it doesn't. Instead, I get the
following error message:

System error 67 has occurred.

The network name cannot be found.

Can anyone help me out with this?

Thanks for the info...I was wondering what "wlh" stood for and now I know.
I'm somewhat new to the DDK and didn't think this would be a problem. Is
this project, or something similar, available for Windows XP? Windows 7?
Frankly, I expected the sample projects to work on multiple platforms but I
see now that that was unrealistic.

Thanks!

It is realistic in many cases. You have to know if major changes were done
for the driver stack in which you wish to participate. You then compile for
the lowest version of Windows where these is backwards compatibility. Many
stacks have remained the same, but NIC, video, and several others have had
major changes from XP to Win7 with most changes occurring at Vista.

Sure, that makes total sense. But the hard part is figuring out what the
lowest common denominator is with regards to the the API calls I need to
implement and how to implement them. On top of that, I don't even have a
working example that works on anything except Vista. On top of that, the
latest WDK doesn't have a network redirector example at all! So now what?
Am I missing something in the WDK about network redirectors?
