For some reason I don't have any drivers listed in my odbc administrator. I
was doing an install of SQL 2000 when it crashed which somehow removed all of
the drivers from the listing. How do I retrieve them?

Upon doing some research it states that I have MDAC 2.8.1 installed on my
Windows XP professional machine.

Without the drivers, I can't install any version of SQL. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

I am sorry that I haven't yet experienced such a suitation before.

Also, I am not very clear about what you meant by "I don't have any drivers
listed in my odbc administrator". Did the installation failure of the SQL
removes the list of driver in administrator (empty list) or removes the
driver referenced in the list (non empty list, but you cannot add a DSN
pointing to the SQL driver - it may prompt something like "cannot load the
driver")? More detail information (such as error messages, export of the
registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBCINST.INI) can help me to
understand the problem more.

In general, you may try to restore your OS (with your Windows CD-ROM). And
then, try upgrade to SP3 (the ODBC driver for SQL Server was shipped together
with the SP2 or above). But I am not sure whether this helps, since I am not
very clear about your problem, as mentioned above.

Thanks,
Ming.
