We are currently running CRM 1.2. I recently began noticing an issue with
Internet Explorer crashing. It appears to be getting worse and seems like it
happens most frequently when selecting items from the top navigation menu
(Tools, Go To, etc.) I have Pop Up blocker turned off, but that is not
helping.
Is anyone having a similar issue? Users are experiencing browser crashes
several times a day.
Thank you,
Donna

I haven't looked into obtaining the update yet, but I did instruct everyone
to uninstall hotfix KB918899 from their computer and that fixed the problem
for us. I had the error running IE 6 SP2 as well. You have to uninstall the
hotfix to correct the issue and then install the new one when it is released.

Thanks.

Be sure to follow all of these steps and you should be able to find the file
in the Add or Remove Program directory.
You can access Add or Remove Programs by selecting Start and Control Panel.
You will need to select the checkbox, Show Updates, in order to display the
list of hot fixes applied to your computer.
After locating the update file, highlight it and select Remove.
Accept any prompts you receive.
You will find KB918899 under Windows XP - Software Updates.
KB article 926996, Fix numbers 187899 and 187898 for server and client.
I have been told the release via Windows Update will occur as part of a
cumulative update in October.

This issue was first reported on IE6 SP1, and I think that's what Microsoft
fixed first, but I'm pretty certain it's also an issue on IE6 SP2.
Our company was having the same issue and for the short term, we updated to
latest Internet Explorer. We configured browser to open links in new window.
This has been our workaround for the time being.
Hope this helps,
Chris

Any other ideas ??
923762 looks like it refers to IE SP1 only. I think you mentioned that you
were on IE SP2?? That may be the cause of the warning message you are
receiving.
I'm sure you've thought of at least some of these, but my suggestions are:
1) request and install 923996 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923996/)
2) uninstall 918899
3) wait until the next cumulative update, whenever that may be, and assuming
it fixes the problem
4) upgrade to IE7
I realise that some of these options may be impractical or unpalatable, but
hopefully one of them a) works and b) is practical for you.
