Running CRM 3.0 and CRM 4.0 on the same server

I am in the process of testing conversion from CRM 3.0 to CRM 4.0 and
want to know if it is possible to run both on the same server
concurrently.
I currently have a test CRM 3.0 set up and would like to install and
run CRM 4.0 in a second data base on the same SQL Server and Web
Server. Is this possible?

Some useres are listed with "firstname lastename" other with "lastname,
firstname" Is there any way to correct this?

A script cannot do this as the OnSave event is fired before the save actually
occurs. The deactivate can (and must) only be done after the record is saved.
A workflow would indeed be the easy method to do this without coding.
However it can take several some time between the save and the record being

There can be several causes for this problem.
How is the issue web site binding configured. Is this set to any ip, if not
is it set to the correct one. Is it using a hostname, if so are you using
this one. Are there other sites using the same binding parameters (this will
typically generate a message in the server event log).

Unable to access CRM from web client

Hi,
I have a EBS 2008 installation and CRM 4 installed on the Messaging Server.
I can acces locally to the crm site, in the 5555 port, but i can not access
it from clients - we only need to use web client access for CRM.
When i make a netstat in the CRM server i check that this line appears
TCP 127.0.0.1:5555 SRV03:54639 ESTABLISHED

Matt;
I think to script this, you would need to call web services from your
script - it is no longer a 'simple' script at that point. Any reason you
can't use workflow to change the status of the record? To me, that seems
like a simple solution, no coding involved.

Hi, I am trying to write a simple script in the OnSave event but cannot get
it to work.
We would like to automatically deactivate a record when a particular field
(date field) is populated and the record is saved.
Can anyone tell me, firstly if this is possible, and secondly what should

I'm not sure I understand your question Andy.
As a user, you can use the CRM for Outlook integration regardless of how you
intend to send/receive email.
If you do use the CRM for Outlook add-in, you have the choice of using
Outlook to send/receive emails. In this scenario, nothing really changes

certain things will not be displayed. For Example:
