Max tabs in Account

I just tried to add some extra tabs in CRM, and I received the following
message:
"You have reached the maximum number of tabs allowed per form".

In addition to the standard 4 stabs, I added 4 more.
Does anyone know why MS limited this to 8 tabs?

I wrote the form editor originally when I was at Microsoft on the CRM team
and it's an arbitrary limitation we set in CRM 1.0.

To be 100% truthful, we actually had a bug opened by test on the fact that
it didn't handle the situation when the user added "too many" tabs in the
editor. The PM (Vivek) and I set a maximum of 8 tabs as the limit and
closed the bug.

If you NEED to add more than 8 tabs to a form, simply change the limit...

In: C:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM Server\CRMWeb\Tools\FormEditor find
formeditor.aspx and open it to edit it. Find the JavaScript variable
"_iMaxTabs" and you'll see it's set to 8. Just change that and you're in
business! It should be obvious, but I need to call out that this is not
supported and there are no guarantees that this will not have repercussions
in the future.
