I am using CRM 4.0 and noticed outbound email is blocked as SPAM when sent
through the CRM router. The same email sent through Outlook is not blocked. I
looked at the header of both outbound messages and noticed the CRM router
email header is slightly different than what goes out through Outlook. I'm
guessing it is the way the router relays the email. I have the router running
on our Exchange 2007 server. I really want to use the router but can't take a
cahnce on it getting blocked as SPAM. What is the solution?

Have you managed to find any information on this, as we are having problems
where emails send through the email router to internal people sometime go
into their junk email folder. I know we can add the email to the safe senders
list, but the same could be happening to external emails to clients etc.

I have a case open with Microsoft. The CRM router is adding ascii characters
to the subject line of the email which is causing many SPAM filters to
designate the email as SPAM. As a test we sent two emails to the same
external test user, one directly through Outlook and one through the CRM. The
CRM email was blocked and the Outlook email wwent through. When you look at
the header of the outbound email that orginated form the CRM you can see the
ascii characters that were appended to the email. I am told by Microsoft that
this is by design. Unfortunately this make the product almost unsuable for
outbound email as you will never be sure that the email will be delivered.
This is completely unacceptable beahvior as you can't ask everyone to
whitelist your domain. Still waiting for a fix from Microsoft as this is a
showstopper!

Have you checked that ReverseDNS is set up on your sending domain?
Not having this is a common spam-scoring trigger.

This is not a PTR or SPF record issue. The only outbound emails that are
blocked are related to email routed through the CRM. The CRM router relays
email through our Exchange server. The problem is directly related to the
ascii characters that the CRM appends into the subject line of the email. You
can only see the characters if you look at the header of the email, but many
SPAM filters block emails that contain ascii charters in the subject line.

I?m using MS CRM 4.0, Exchange 2003 and SBS windows 2003.
I have the same problem. If i send an email with Outlook it is recived without any problem. But if i send the same email with MS CRM it?s blocked by some mail servers.
I?m not using the following token for MS CRM mails.
I will open a case with Microsoft too. Perhaps they will attend us.
Please if you find the solution tell me.
Regards.

I have change an option at "System Configuration --> e-mail".
There is an option called "Usar marcos seguros para el contenido restringido de mensajes de correo electr?nico". Something like "use secure frames ...".

It was at NO, and I change it to Yes.

Now hotmail filter don?t stops the email, but if I see the header it?s the same than before.

I will check it with other mails, but it seems to be working.
