I recommended MS CRM to our organization.
So, we are new to MS CRM 4.0 and I start regretting the recommendation.
There are tons of issues with security warning related to non existing
pop-up blockers with Outlook and IE, but those are issues for another time.
The issue I have today relates to Terminal Server users using MS CRM with
Outlook on Terminal Server.
They started getting messages that the server is unavailable, requests
failed, no authorization, etc.
I know, it doesn't say much.
And I know that deleting a profile and creating a new one on TS works, but
this is not the solution for all times.
In this particular case I uninstalled MS CRM client for the user and
installed the setupclient.exe for the user.
When I start the Configuration Wizard, however, I get an error: The request
failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized, and then Mandatory updates for
Microsoft Dynamics CRM could not be applied successfully. Try running the
application again.
The only choice left is to cancel the Configuration Wizard.
What am I doing wrong?
Please.
We deploy the CRM Outlook client on Terminal Servers all the time and it
works perfectly. Make sure you are not installing the offline version of the
CRM Outlook client and install Rollup 8 on the servers and clients.

Hi Wes,
I used MS CRM 4 as a SAAS on Terminla Service and it work great.
First install the Outlook CRM client and latest update rollup in terminal
services.
Don’t enable auto patch for the end users as the terminal services
administrator should be rolling out updates.
To remove the ‘configure’ option from certain users (in case where not
outlook users will be crm users) use these registry keys:
Check memory usage it could be is very high,
If terminal services is setup in a farm with multiple boxes, don’t
round-robbin the users logging in. Setting up affinity so users login to the
same box.
If the outlook crm client becomes slow or glitches happen, recreate the
user’s profile. This is the fastest way of getting a user back on.
Good luck,
Hans

Other suggestion is to control the installation again:
