CRM 4.0 Outlook Install Problem

Hi,

Having problem installing the outlook client. Tried an upgrade from
3.0 to 4.0 but the upgrade kindly removed the CRM database therefore
4.0 could not be installed.

Removed all traces of 3.0 (used microsoft KB article as a guide) and
then installed 4.0. First issue is that it could not find C:\Program
Files\Microsoft CRM. A noted bug here, so I created the folder and
carried on.

Right near the end of the install it rolls back all the actions and
says the install has failed. Brilliant.
Tested a few more times but same thing.

Anyone else getting these problems?

I had a similar problem with set up not finding c:\program files\Microsoft CRM
but mine was a fresh install and on creating the folder set up continued
successfully. Are you getting this problem on all machines? Are you seeing
any CRM Office Client version in your add/remove programs (control panel)?
Have you tried the windows updates before trying the installation as I know
some of my colleagues were unable to install CRM client without doing this
first?

I have the same issue, it installs but just before the end it "Rolls Back"
the install. Did you find any solution for this issue:
