Internet connection error message

I need a help here.
I am using windows xp professional sp2(drive c) on my pc and today i
installed successfully windows 7 ultimate 32 bits on my pc in my new patition
drive j.
I createed internet connection in windows 7 and got internet connection
without problem.
But I cannot get internet connection in my windows xp mode. Error message
was appeared as "error 678, the remote computer did not respon." .
I tried to delete the old connection and reset again and again but the same
error message appeared.
Then i entered to windows 7 mode again and again to get internet connection
but I got internet connection without having problems.
1. Can somebody help me for this problem to get internet connection again in
windows xp mode?
2. Can or how can I apply programs (which are in windows xp mode) in windows
7 mode?
